How to Find Them
Have you been laughed at yet? Has someone made fun of you because you mentioned that you are going to get a home based job? If so, they won't be laughing long. Such jobs do exist and they are becoming more and more common as companies struggle to stay in the black and the prices of buildings and office space keep rising. It's the new wave, work from home.
There are many varieties of these positions. In the instance of a service company like your appliance repair man, a company might let it's techs go home with the company truck and get him to operate from home instead of them keeping a large shop open that is generally empty during the day.
Many sales organizations now are doing basically the same thing. They find they don't need offices that are usually empty because the sales people are out in their territories and they work from home.
The list is long.
How to find real home based jobs can be a little tricky, however. The biggest obstacle is that the field is full of scam artists and get rich quick schemes. There is hope, however, to get through this mine field of deceit and you can start to work from home.
1. First, go online and do ordinary searches for what you are looking for. Be specific in your searches. If you don't know how to fine tune your searches, do exactly like this including the quotes: "home based jobs + the kind of position you seek + the area you want + a particular company if you wish".
The quotes are called an optimized search and the plus signs allow you to fine tune and laser focus the search engines on exactly what you are looking for. This puts you that much closer to work from home jobs.
One critical thing to remember is that you should never have to pay for access to online job postings. Watch for this and stay away from them.
2. Once you've got some prospects, call or go to your local Better Business Bureau and ask about the companies you are thinking of. They will be able to point out the bad eggs to you in the work from home game.
3. Then, do a search for forums the same way on the net. You will end up talking to people who are doing the job you are interested in and the companies you are looking at. The biggest benefit of these forums is that they will have many new ideas that you never thought of regarding real home based jobs.
4. There is one other avenue for you to explore that I would be negligent if I didn't mention. Many people are creating their own job to their own exact specifications. What this boils down to is creating a small web site of their own and then setting up a little online business.
Again, this area is full of gurus and con men, but taking your time, you can build an education for yourself in internet business and you will never have to look for work online or one you have to commute to ever again.
If such is your interest, go to places like Squidoo, Hubpages and Google. They all have extensive free libraries of e-books and video tutorials.
